Published by Watermeadow Books
First published in 1961,
copies of the original edition are scarce and greatly prized.
In
this new limited edition, Fred has added an epilogue in which he looks back over
the years to the swims and waters where he, together with Ken and Joe
Taylor, developed the lift method for Tench; dead baiting for pike and
recalls days they spent with giants of the angling world, Dick Walker,
Peter Thomas, Billy Lane and Peter Stone.
Printed in two colours to preserve the quality of John Searl’s superb
illustrations, only 500 copies bound in a high quality natural cloth
are in production.
A further 40*
copies are to
be leather bound with all the features that should be present in a high
quality collectors’ edition. Bound in Harmatan natural goatskin, four
raised bands to the spine, ribbon marker, head and tail bands, gilt on
all edges, marbled endpapers, blocked front and spine with extra tooling
this will be a book to treasure.
